Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't as good at picking up debris like screws made of metal or pasta pieces. But they're amazing at sweeping dust, pet hair and food particles. The best models have intelligent navigation technology and a feature to avoid objects that allow them to maneuver around cords, toys and other household obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a great robot vacuum with a number of smart features that make it much easier to maintain than many competing models. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most impressive features we've seen in a robot vacuum. It is a great choice for both carpets and hard floors. It's also simple to set up and use with the app that guides you through the process step-by-step. Its ability to restart where it left off in our tests is a great feature. It could do this for 77 minutes in one cleaning, and then the battery was exhausted.
Unlike some of the other robovacs that we evaluated, the i3+ EVO comes with self-emptying bins that dump debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it still needs to be manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dust bin can hold 2.4L of debris and is enough to get it through five or four cleaning sessions before needing to replace it.
The i3+ EVO, just like the i7 uses state-ofthe-art floor-tracking sensors to create maps. It also allows you to navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, while the i7 can store multiple. The i7's map is used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones but not the i3+ EVO.
Although the i3+ EVO is more effective at picking up surface debris than some of the other robovacs we looked at, it's not the best for cleaning edges and corners. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being surprisingly quiet. It moved chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our bed, and got stuck on cords and toys during our testing.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
If you're looking to increase your robot vacuum collection or just starting out, the Q5 Pro is a great option. It has a sleek design with a powerful navigation system, as well as useful automation at a reasonable cost. It's the most efficient pound-for pound model on sale right now and even matches Roborock's higher-priced models in several ways.
This robot is great in cleaning floors that are dirty and its avoidance technology helps it steer away from furniture legs and other obstacles. It also excels on carpets, and earns an excellent score in our tests of navigation. The only issue is that it's noisier than other models and doesn't do better in our user-satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin that is 770ml. This means you won't need to empty it as frequently as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240 minute running time is also impressive when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we tested. If the battery is depleted it goes back to its dock and automatically recharges before continuing cleaning where it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen that incorporates 3D mapping. That, combined with some other innovations, makes it perform exceptionally well in our vacuuming and mopping tests. You can schedule cleaning times, set no-go zones, and view the battery's status, among other things. The app is easy to use, but it does not support Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. click here to read updated its website's footnote in early November to reflect that the feature was delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with several other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that is able to mop, and is a great value, the TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus is the right choice. It is stylish in design and impressive features for its price. You can control it using the buttons on the machine using the app, or even using voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus does a excellent job of cleaning up normal messes and is suitable for light mopping on hard floors. It comes with a replacement mopping cloth and the sweeping brush and a HEPA filter. It can be paired with a smart home hub such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for convenient voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus can be easily set up and connect to various floor surfaces with the automatic mode. This ensures the best cleaning results for every area and floor type.

The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is one of best full-featured robots for flooring made of hard wood. It features a high-tech mapping system that can map your home across multiple floors. The extremely well-designed base station virtually automates the cleaning process. It also offers incredible navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The model is equipped with an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map your home and devise efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was rated highly for its navigation and coverage. It also did a great job avoiding obstacles like furniture. It is also able to find its way back to the base station if it is unable to recharge its batteries during an exercise of cleaning.
It also has a spot cleaning mode that lets you to mop or clean a specific area of your floor. It can also be manually programmed to follow a specific path. This is great if you have narrow stairs or hallways. In our carpet cleaning test it was successful in cleaning carpets. However, it struggled to clean rugs and carpets with thick piles. It is possible to set it up to raise the mop pad when it comes into contact with carpet. This is a great feature for those who want to not have to mop their carpets.
The iMop includes an onboard dustbin and a water tank that is empty at the conclusion of each cleaning session.
